Fiscal Impact: N/A. River Forest will be funding all work occurring within its municipal limits, at a value not to exceed $40,000.00 per year or portion thereof, or $240,000.00 over the term of the agreement.

Summary: The Forest Preserves pursues wildlife management activities on its properties in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture for the benefit of the native biodiversity of natural areas. River Forest is proposing to partner with the Forest Preserves to initiate wildlife management activities at Forest Preserve properties within the municipal boundaries of the Village of River Forest, including Thatcher Woods, Thomas Jefferson Woods, and Grand Army of the Republic Woods.
The Forest Preserves will procure and coordinate all work through its existing program, with supplemental work at aforementioned locations being funded by River Forest, at their sole expense. This work will improve the native biodiversity of the surrounding natural areas, reduce the risk of wildlife related vehicular incidents, and mitigate issues negatively impacting the residents of River Forest. Final agreement is subject to legal review and approval.
