Summary:  The Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) requests approval of the reappointment of Commissioner Dennis Deer to the Board of Directors of NeighborSpace, an affiliate partner of the Forest Preserves.

 

In 1997, the Forest Preserves entered into an agreement with the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District to form NeighborSpace, a nonprofit urban land trust in Chicago that preserves and sustains gardens on behalf of dedicated community groups. A Forest Preserve Commissioner, the General Superintendent, and an additional Forest Preserves staff member sit on the Board of Directors of NeighborSpace along with representatives of the City of Chicago and the Chicago Park District.

 

Commissioner Deer has served on the NeighborSpace Board of Directors as the Forest Preserves Board of Commissioners representative since January 2018.
