These USDA NRCS grant funds are provided through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI).

Summary:  This project will remove invasive woody shrubs and weeds in associated wetland pockets. The restoration will improve habitat for amphibians and the suitability of the site as a migratory bird stopover location. The Forest Preserves’ Volunteer Resources section will conduct community outreach activities and host workdays to establish volunteer stewardship for the site.
