Summary: Agreement #13-31-118 consists of the engagement of young adults from urban and diverse communities to perform habitat enhancement and ecological restoration projects on Forest Preserves of Cook County grasslands, wetlands, and woodland habitats with the goals of restoring the land to ecological health, introducing environmental science/conservation as a potential career, and to foster a lifelong appreciation of nature. The original 3-year contract was approved by the Board on 2/18/2014 and expires 12/31/2016. The Preserves would like to extend Contract #13-31-118 for an additional twelve (12) months. A new RFQ will be issued in the third quarter of 2017.
This program advances the goals of the Next Century Conservation Plan.
