PROPOSED BID RECOMMENDATION
Department: Department of Planning and Development
Request: Authorization for the Forest Preserves of Cook County (the “Forest Preserves”) to enter into a construction contract with Pan-Oceanic Engineering Co., Inc., primary place of business Chicago, Illinois, for the removal and installation of drop gates (bollards), trail striping, painting of pavement markers, and installation of signage along the Poplar Creek, Tinley Creek, and Centennial Trail paved trail systems.
Reason: Contract #74000014446 issued under Project #24-80-01R Trail Safety Improvements for Poplar Creek, Tinley Creek, and Centennial Trails. The work addresses safety issues with the removal and/or installation of drop gates at egress points on Forest Preserves paved trails, centerline striping and installation of approved regulatory signs.
