Request: Defer in the Decennial Committee
Report Title: 2024 Efficiency Report for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County
Summary: On June 10, 2022, the Decennial Committees on Local Government Efficiency Act became effective and placed certain requirements on the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners.
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners created a Decennial Committee on April 25, 2023 in order to create an efficiency report as specified by the Decennial Committees on Local Government Efficiency Act (see Board Item No. 23-0230). The Decennial Committee met on May 23, 2023 and December 12, 2023.
This report contains the information required to be complied with by the Act. These include the Forest Preserve District of Cook County’s governing statutes, ordinances, rules, procedures, powers, jurisdiction, shared services, intergovernmental agreements, and interrelationships with other governmental units and the State. The report includes recommendations with respect to increased accountability and efficiency.
This report is a draft in order to gather feedback from Commissioners and the public before the final report is submitted.
