Summary: The Forest Preserves has been working on updating the electricity at several buildings located at the McGinnis Fisheries Field Station operated by the Forest Preserves Department of Resource Management as part of a PBC-managed project to replace a dilapidated metal boat storage shed with a modern metal garage building. The Field Station buildings require a new ComEd transformer and other equipment and facilities to replace old facilities that have experienced recurring power outages. ComEd requires the Forest Preserves to enter into an Electric Facilities Service Acknowledgment contract to cover installation and payment of related fees. The equipment will be owned by ComEd. The continuous term of the agreement requires board approval, however, the agreement is terminable by the Forest Preserves.
This project is being managed by the PBC pursuant to an Intergovernmental Agreement approved by the Board of Commissioners on April 25, 2023 (Board Item No. 23-0299). Due to time sensitivities, the Forest Preserves respectfully requests authorization to have the General Superintendent execute this agreement.
