ORDINANCE FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 2016
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County:
Section 1. That this Ordinance is and the same is hereby termed the “Ordinance for the Levy of Taxes for the Year 2016.”
Section 2. That the Committee on Finance of the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Illinois has considered the subject of the Annual Tax Levy for the year 2016 and the several sums necessary to be levied to meet the needs and requirements of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County for said year and has recommended that this ordinance for the levy of taxes be adopted.
Section 3. Reason: IDOT proposes to replace the existing 60-80 year old culverts that convey Midlothian Creek under Cicero Avenue with a new concrete structure. The temporary easement is needed for grading to align the existing stream bank with the new structure. The proposed stream bank grading will reduce the existing stream bank erosion along the south bank of the creek, on the Preserves’ land.
No permanent structures are proposed to be built on District land.
The area for the temporary easement is 0.05 acres. IDOT indicates that no trees are expected to be removed for this project.
