WHEREAS, the winning photographs were nominated by Forest Preserve staff from hundreds of submittals and ultimately selected by public voting for final inclusion in the yearly calendar; and
WHEREAS, the winning photographs stood out for their ability to skillfully capture and showcase the unique landscape and wildlife which exists in the Forest Preserves; and
WHEREAS, The Forest Preserves thanks all winners for their participation in the annual contest and their enthusiasm and passion to celebrate and call attention to the remarkable nature that can be found within the Forest Preserves of Cook County.

WHEREAS, due to the amount of available funding the project will be constructed in two stages: Stage 1 from Devon and Caldwell Avenue to Forest Glen Avenue and, pending available funding, Stage 2 from Forest Glen to Foster & Kostner Avenues; and
